macci's 2006 of never to be done SOCIAL FAUX PAS
1. to overreact. it will clue others on how much you need attention. and its very unbecoming and overly annoying.
2. to shut up completely. it's loserish and will lead you away from becoming assertive. assertiveness is key in most things. you'll never get anything unless you ask... properly.
3. be a charming flirt. no one can be the resident flirt without people realizing that he or she is so. most often, you'll get reprimanded of it. besides, an actual charming person does not need to flirt to attract people.
4. be too noisy! fortunately for me, i've wisened up a bit. hahaha. if i havent, it be a social outcast by now. even if i consider myself to be something of a "life of the party" (which i may just be bluffing about. haha. but i really am!!), YOU'VE GOT TO LEARN TO SHUT UP. just because someone's noisy doesnt mean their interesting.
5. use foul language too often. you're never interesting when you are.
6. base YOURSELF on other people's first impressions. very usually, they never last. hahaha. besides, a good judge of charachter would not base their analysis completely on the first few moments of contact.
7. allow yourself to be bullied. ive had enough bullying to last me for all my school years. seriously, its ugly.
8. to let your emotions get to you. moody people have no credibility in maintaining friends. tears are private, like a content of a bag. they should be let out only when with people you personally feel extremely comfy with AND when the situation calls for it (LIKE WHEN YOU NEED SYMPATHY). and do not show any NEED for sympathy anyway.
9. be fickle. figure out whom you really like and stick with it. even if people hate someone you actually consider just fine, you have to find a way to not be a loser but be able to defend him/her. it's quite useful, since you do need connections. verbal attacks should be done behind people's back ONLY when you're sure you find them in every aspect undesirable.
10. pretend to be someone you're not. only losers do that. honesty is a very much simpler policy to live with. a little humor can balance the whole thing.
